Chapter 596: Calculation

Chapter 596: Chapter 596: Calculation

Li Yao went straight into the warehouse. Despite it being built of stone, the interior was filled with meat drying racks. Li Yao cautiously peered through the ventilation gaps everywhere in the walls, noticing that although there were people coming and going outside, there were very few guards, and they were all located along the roads.

The guards had their backs turned towards him. Li Yao observed that this was one of the few buildings with a door. Even though there were many gaps, they were for ventilation, making it difficult to see the interior clearly. Relieved, Li Yao moved the meat drying racks to the center of the warehouse.

After about fifteen minutes, a large number of drying racks were gathered together. But the warehouse was just too large, and there were too many racks. Under the desperate situation, Li Yao arranged them into more than a dozen piles before he was finished.

Li Yao originally planned to burn the building, but that was practically impossible since the massive structure was made from huge chunks of stone.

As Li Yao was about to set the fire, a thought occurred to him. He used the Eye of the Creator to examine the hall carefully and immediately identified several red areas.

Soon, Li Yao realized that these areas were the support points of the huge building. Satisfied, he set up his explosives there.

Li Yao knew all too well that if such a huge stone building collapsed, it would result in a catastrophe. The Ancient God World was unlike other games.

In other games, only certain small things could be destroyed.

For example, flowers and plants. But in the Ancient God World, it resembled reality. In other games when you cut trees, it immediately turns into lumber, but in the Ancient God World, it wouldn’t be any different from doing it in real life.

An important difference was the buildings. In the previous games, unless required by the plot, players couldn’t destroy them.

But in the Ancient God World, it was like real life, where buildings could be destroyed or set on fire. When the Ancient God game was first launched, many hilarious incidents of inns catching fire occurred.

Countless players messed around in hotel rooms, unintentionally igniting or damaging the inn, and ended up racking up huge depts.

Thanks to his pet and the Mechanical Space, Li Yao could carry a lot of items, especially engineering items like explosives.

However, as his power increased, he found less and less use for these auxiliary items.

Nevertheless, with the arrival of the Warcraft, these items once again proved to be invaluable. There was a reason why Li Yao devoted time to practice Engineering.

Li Yao poured some oil onto the meat racks and then ignited the pile. He then entered stealth mode and sneaked out of the warehouse through one of the gaps. After that, he hid on top of a building some distance away to watch the show.

Only after a short while, a massive blaze erupted, followed swiftly by a pungent smell of burning meat and a large column of smoke.

The ogres were shouting in alarm, rushing desperately toward the warehouse. This was where they stored their food, after all.

Even in the swamp, there were seasons where food was scarce. Especially for the ogres, who ate a lot, food stocks played a critical role during certain periods. Now that the stockpile was on fire, the ogres were in a state of panic, dousing in to try and save their food.

Li Yao patiently waited. He didn’t ignite all the piles of meat racks at once; instead, he laid a trail of slow-burning fuses, only kindling a few piles and letting the fire spread gradually.

This was a deliberate move by Li Yao to lure more ogres into the warehouse.

The ogres nearby rushed recklessly into the warehouse; they were desperate, as to them, food equals life.

Besides these ogres, a large commotion stirred the city. The huge plume of smoke was noticeable from miles away. Everyone knew that one of the granaries was on fire.

Many ogres wanted to put out the fire, but others streamed into the remaining granaries in the city, tightly guarding their food supplies. Losing one granary was manageable, but more than that would probably send the ogre tribes into a frenzy.

The warehouse was vast, and many ogres noticed that not all the food had caught fire. Because the building was made of stone, they weren’t too afraid.

Under the encouragement of an ogre boss, they started to salvage the unburnt dried meat, with ogres bustling in and out.

Some ogres fetched water to extinguish the fire but didn’t notice anything amiss.

“That should be enough,” smiled Li Yao. He pulled out a Steel Arrow, nocked it to his bow, and let it fly.

Ding…

The arrow striking against stone gave off a loud sound, but the ogres, preoccupied with rescuing their food, didn’t seem to notice.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

But it was this arrow that cost many ogres their lives.

The arrow sparked upon hitting the stone, which ignited the highly combustible gunpowder hidden by the gaps.

In just a moment, a massive explosion echoed out. Apart from this slow-burn fuse, Li Yao had laid other real fuses as well, which continued burning.

Subsequent explosions followed one after another. The ogres were scared witless, feeling like it was the end of the world.

They were swallowed up by the scourge of the exploding explosives, but at the current stage, the explosives that Li Yao made were mainly used to visually subdue the ogres. To kill an ogre using an explosive was highly unfeasible.

However, Li Yao’s real intention wasn’t to kill the ogres using explosives.

With the sound of explosions filling the atmosphere, the entire warehouse began to creak under strain as if it was groaning under the stress of its own weight. Following this was the collapse of the giant stones and the horrified screams of the ogres.

The stones were enormous and extremely tall. The force of the collapse was too overwhelming for even the ogres to resist.

It was like the apocalyptic end of the world. With the collapse of the hall, the ground kept trembling constantly.

Especially those ogres outside; they were petrified. Within a matter of minutes, the huge warehouse had turned into a pile of ruins, surrounded by the horrifying screams of the ogres.

“Help me.” “Someone, save us.”

“Quickly remove these damn rocks.”

Although Li Yao couldn’t understand what the ogres were saying, he could well imagine that the surviving ogres must have been scared out of their wits, crying for help.

Li Yao could clearly see that within this havoc, the boss-level ogre was still alive. Watching his experience bar increase crazily, he concluded that the boss-level ogre hadn’t died yet. Of course, bosses in Warcraft don’t die so easily.

Li Yao hid in a corner, and with a flash of golden light, he leveled up. In a mere moment, Li Yao had crushed a building and killed over a hundred ogres. This caused him, who was already on the verge of leveling up, to immediately reach Level 25.

Li Yao didn’t know that his sudden level-up had driven the players pursuing him crazy. At this moment, Li Yao glanced at his attributes and then turned to leave. There was no need to stay here anymore, and besides, he didn’t kill these ogres just for the sake of leveling up..
